6 Disturbing Portrayals Of Satan In Film

If I were to bring up the devil to you, how would you envision it? Would you imagine a creature, bent at the spine and fiery red with a forked tongue? Would you imagine some massive, hulking beast, dwelling in a boiling pit of human souls, gorging himself on them and shitting them out only to eat them again? Or maybe you would see Satan as the scariest thing of all: human. Maybe you just imagine the devil as one of us, walking among us, laughing that we don't know he or she is there. Or maybe you are one of those people who just laugh at the thought of imaginary deities that are created to keep us in line.

Oh, Mel Gibson. What do we even say about you? You hate everyone (in real life) and have pretty much slit the throat of your own career (The Expendables 3 standing as a recent testimony to this). But I will say, in your anti-semitic, torture porn film, The Passion of the Christ, casting the antichrist as a (somewhat androgynous) woman was brilliant. She was a sort of mockup of Mary, carrying around a fucking midget and shit. Though the movie is just some jerk-off propaganda for holy folk, actress Rosalinda Celantano brought something utterly chilling in her portrayal of the devil. A touch of femininity.

Also, honestly, the if the devil is real, the chances of it having a vagina seem pretty high to me. The most evil creatures I have ever known in my life have all had vaginas.

Just saying.
