Similarly, fans put off by Snyder’s distinctive and divisive brand of moviemaking should remember that there are many interesting directors on the horizon who will no doubt deliver something very different.

First, we have DC beating Marvel to the punch with a female director in Patty Jenkins, who will helm Wonder Woman. James Wan, meanwhile, could marry his supernatural and action movie expertise to make a great Aquaman movie, and Rick Famuyiwa is an off-the-wall choice for The Flash but could very well turn out to be a brilliant one.

But the most interesting upcoming director for fans is Ben Affleck himself, who will be the main guy both in front of and behind the camera in the next Batman solo movie. The actor has both proven himself a great fit for the character and a talented director in the likes of Argo, so it will be fascinating to see his own take on the Batman mythos.
