5) It’s Time For Superhero Movies To Grow Up
The Suicide Squad is comprised of horrendously disturbed criminals who only accept their missions as a means to avoid punishment or even death. Deadpool may not be kindest of heroes, but even he sometimes works towards a greater good. In contrast, the Suicide Squad work purely from an immoral vantage point, even taking joy at times from watching innocent bystanders die as the mission unfolds.
Admittedly, DC are unlikely to venture as far as die hard comic book fans would want, but Suicide Squad certainly has the potential to become the darkest and most disturbed movie ever released by a mainstream comic book publisher. Darker doesn’t always mean better, but the unique set-up of Suicide Squad could convert audiences unconvinced by typical superhero antics, appealing to a wider demographic than ever before.
