9 New Star Wars: The Last Jedi Posters Tease The Light Side Of The Force

That eternal struggle between good and evil – between the dark side and the light – has been a cornerstone of Lucasfilm’s Star Wars franchise ever since Luke Skywalker walked out into Tatooine’s twin sunset. And when it comes to The Last Jedi, that feud will essentially boil down to two very powerful individuals who may have more in common than we’ve been led to believe: Rey and Kylo Ren.

Played by Daisy Ridley and Adam Driver, respectively, the Force-sensitive duo will be a big, big part of Rian Johnson’s sci-fi sequel, and we’ve even heard rumors that Luke Skywalker will be the one who pushes Rey toward Kylo Ren in the first place. Remember, Mark Hamill’s jaded Jedi has seen better days, so we can only assume that Rey and Luke’s relationship will get off to a shaky start when The Last Jedi begins. And that’s putting it kindly.

But before we get to all that in just a few weeks’ time, IGN has debuted some stylish new posters for the upcoming pic, inspired by the Light Side of the Force. There’s nothing terribly revealing here, but they’re bright, colorful and well designed one-sheets, each spotlighting a different character or something that represents a character. For instance, we have droids like C-3P0, R2-D2 and BB-8, the Millennium Falcon, new creatures such as the Porgs and more!

Pretty cool, right? With The Last Jedi now so close to being with us, Rian Johnson’s sequel recently came into view for box office analysts, where insiders predicted a huge $200 million opening weekend in North America. Such a debut would ensure Lucasfilm’s Star Wars pic holds the record for 2017’s highest bow on home turf, easily surpassing Beauty and the Beast ($174 million).

Whether that’ll indeed be the case remains to be seen, of course, but what we can tell you with absolute certainty is that The Last Jedi has been penciled in for release on December 15th and this is merely the start of Johnson’s journey in that galaxy far, far away, as we know he’ll spearhead an entirely new trilogy sometime after the launch of Episode IX in 2019, and it’ll be teeming with new locations and original characters.
