There’s a storm looming over the mystical realm of Azeroth; an age-old battle rages on between the Alliance and the Horde, and in anticipation of Friday’s reveal trailer, Universal and Legendary Pictures have unveiled a new one-sheet for Duncan Jones’ Warcraft: The Beginning that depicts such a mythic encounter.
Currently in the process of summoning a portal into the aforementioned realm, the poster arrives on the heels of a trio of brand new images, showcasing some of the leading players from the two leading factions. Moreover, in keeping with the franchise’s tendency for expansions, the studios have altered the title of the film slightly, imbuing it with the franchise potential that Jones always believed it had.
Incubating in a lengthy post-production phase, where the tech wizards of Industrial Light and Magic are bringing the director’s vision to life – indeed Warcraft harbors the potential to be the biggest leap forward in performance capture since Avatar – the vast majority of the plot has been shrouded in secrecy. That will all change come Friday, November 6, and we’re hoping that there’s much more to take away from the reveal trailer than impressive visuals.
What’s just as impressive on paper, though, is the ensemble cast, which encompasses Robert Kazinsky as Orgrim Doomhammer, Travis Fimmel as Anduin Lothar and Toby Kebbel as Durotan, Dominic Cooper as King Llane Wrynn, Travis Fimmel as Anduin Lothar, Ben Foster as Medivh, Ben Schnetzer as Khadgar, Ruth Negga as Lady Taria, Clancy Brown as Blackhand, Daniel Wu as Gul’Dan and Paula Patton’s Garona.
Having been promoted to the summer blockbuster window, Duncan Jones’ CG-laden blockbuster will hope to jump-start a new and mythic franchise at Legendary when Warcraft: The Beginning looms into theaters on June 10, 2016. Check back to We Got This Covered on Friday when we’ll have a full rundown of the maiden trailer for you to enjoy.
