Variety is reporting that Aaron Eckhart has joined Olympus Has Fallen, which is the second "White House is under attack" film in development, the first one being White House Down. If you haven't heard of either project yet, they both feature a similar plot, which focuses on the White House coming under attack and a Secret Service agent coming in to save the day. Variety is reporting that Aaron Eckhart has joined Olympus Has Fallen, which is the second “White House is under attack” film in development, the first one being White House Down.

If you haven’t heard of either project yet, they both feature a similar plot, which focuses on the White House coming under attack and a Secret Service agent coming in to save the day. Simple, yet effective, right?

White House Down has Roland Emmerich behind the camera with Channing Tatum, Maggie Gyllenhaal and Jamie Foxx in front and Olympus Has Fallen is being helmed by Antoine Fuqua with Gerard Butler set to star. As for Eckhart, he’ll play the President of the United States, which seems like a suitable role for the actor.

While I don’t exactly have a problem with the concept behind the two films, I struggle to comprehend why two films based on the exact same premise are being made. From what I can tell, they’re virtually identical and all it will really comes down to is who you want to see save the day, Channing Tatum or Gerard Butler?

So, with that in mind, tell us, who would you rather see save the day?
