Just yesterday we heard that Nightwing may show up in Warner Bros.’ upcoming superhero blockbuster Batman vs. Superman, and that the studio is already in the process of casting the role. Almost instantly rumors began swirling about who could possibly be in consideration, and now the folks over at The Wrap say they’ve been told that Girls star Adam Driver is currently the top pick.

As is usually the case with these rumors about who studios are considering, we have no confirmation from anyone at Warner Bros. that they’ve even discussed Driver for the role, so take this one with a grain of salt. But still, it’s an interesting possibility to think about.

I’ll admit, if I was putting together a list of actors to consider, Driver wouldn’t have crossed my mind. But after thinking about it for a bit, I’m definitely not opposed. I won’t necessarily say that he resembles Nightwing, but he did serve in the Marines for two years, and if you’re looking for an actor physically suited to play a superhero, I’d say an ex-Marine is a great place to start. Also, not that height is all that important, but his 6’3″ frame would match up quite well with Ben Affleck’s 6’4″.

The source also says that there are at least two other actors in consideration for the role. Hopefully those names will leak out soon, as I’m really interested who else is on the list. My top pick would’ve been Joseph Gordon-Levitt, but with his role in The Dark Knight Rises, it’d be a little weird to see him take on a different Batman character.

Stay tuned as we’ll let you know as soon as we hear more on who the studio has their eye on.
