Afraid Of The Dark? Watch Latest TV Spot For Riddick

The world is divided into two types of people: those who are excited for the latest film in the Riddick franchise, and those who are wrong. Needless to say, I fall into the first category. The world is divided into two types of people: those who are excited for the latest film in the Riddick franchise, and those who are wrong. Needless to say, I fall into the first category. With a new TV spot for Riddick recently hitting from Vin Diesel’s homepage, I have to say that I’m even more excited.

Vin Diesel is back as the badass who can see in the dark. Marooned on a desolate desert planet, Riddick finds himself fighting against aliens and bounty hunters alike as he schemes to escape the planet, enact vengeance on those who wronged him, and save his home planet of Furya from destruction. Lot to put on one man, is it not?

There’s nothing really new in this TV spot that we have not already seen in the full length trailers for Riddick. Vin Diesel asks us if we’re afraid of the dark and we catch a few glimpses of some aliens.

So far, Riddick looks much more like Pitch Black than Chronicles of Riddick, which I think we’re all happy about. Additionally, Karl Urban will indeed be returning as one of Riddick’s many nemeses, so we can look forward to seeing him back in action.

Despite the undoubtedly overblown nature of the production – at least from the glimpses we’ve had – there’s no reason to expect that Riddick will be anything less than awesome. Director David Twohy, who has been at the helm for the entirety of the Riddick franchise, is back once more. We might not expect grand thespian performances from Vin Diesel and his crew, but this is a slightly overheated action sci-fi adventure. I just want to see Vin Diesel kick some alien butt.

Riddick will finally hit theatres September 6, 2013. Check out the latest TV spot below and let us know if you’re afraid of the dark.
