After ‘Wakanda Forever’ fans can’t wait to see one other Black hero enter the MCU

Think 'Wakanda Forever' is too woke? Wait until you meet this guy.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is being lauded as the best MCU flick in the middling Phase Four lineup. Perhaps one of the reasons for this surprising success following a string of misfires is the movie taking its subject matter seriously, assisted by the somber tone set by Chadwick Boseman’s tragic passing, but whatever its merits, the fandom is now looking towards the next major Black superhero who could be making his live-action debut in the near future.

Much like its predecessor, Wakanda Forever also alludes to inter-ethnic dilemmas, but in such subtle undertones that it’s never too on the nose. Still, this being the internet and the year 2022, you could probably find some naysayers who will call a movie centering around Black protagonists “woke” or even worse, “apologist.” Well, imagine what some of them will have to say when Blue Marvel eventually makes his entrance as one of the most powerful superheroes in the history of the Marvel Universe.

Frankly, though, it’s more than a little strange that the man hasn’t arrived at the scene yet given how popular he is. Popular and overpowered.

For those of you unfamiliar with Adam Brashear aka Blue Marvel, he was an African-American science prodigy who developed an anti-matter energy device. The device explodes and Brashear is caught in the blast radius, which turns him into an anti-matter reactor with superhuman abilities. Due to his talent in influencing the realm of anti-matter, Blue Marvel is one of the most powerful individuals in the Marvel comic book world, being able to survive almost anything, influence stuff on the molecular level, and even create event horizons at will.
