Alexander Skarsgard Might Play An Eco-Terrorist In Brit Marling Flick

True Blood vampire viking and future A-list star Alexander Skarsgard is joining Brit Marling in an upcoming film she co-wrote with Zal Batmanglij, called The East. Skarsgard will play the leader of an eco-terrorist group, which attacks corporations that they think deserve a beat down. Marling will star opposite of Skarsgard, as an FBI agent trying to destroy the group from within.

Marling and Batmanglij also collaborated on The Sound of My Voice, which brought Marling into the public eye along with her role in Another Earth and my favorite Marling role, Britta’s lesbian friend in Community.

This is just one of the many films Alexander Skarsgard can add to his upcoming list, seeing as how he’ll be in the Navy for Battleship, he’ll terrorize James Marsden and Kate Bosworth in Straw Dogs, and he’ll return to his routes as a viking in The Vanguard. The blonde giant is starting to become quite the celebrity in America, and his starring role on True Blood isn’t ending anytime soon.

Skarsgard is electrifying in True Blood; he’s easily the fan favorite despite his antagonist status. I’d watch him in anything, and although there aren’t many details about The East out yet, it sounds like a promising project with a controversial topic.
