Alien: Covenant Slithers Onto The Cover Of Empire Magazine As New Images Spotlight The Neomorph

"Unclouded by conscience, remorse, or delusions of morality..." Alien: Covenant has officially slithered onto the cover of Empire Magazine.

“Unclouded by conscience, remorse, or delusions of morality…” The latest subscriber cover for Empire Magazine has arrived and, after offering the spotlight to Wonder Woman and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 in recent months, this time it’s Alien: Covenant‘s turn to take center stage.

Embedded below, the onyx-grey one-sheet draws attention to the famous Xenomorph and its biomechanical design, which sprung from the mind of the great H.R. Giger almost 40 years ago. Since then, the nightmarish being – dubbed the “perfect organism” by Ash back in ’79 – has become one of the most recognizable movie monsters in film history, and it’ll be back on our screens in little over a month’s time with the release of Covenant.

And so, as Ridley Scott’s prequel-sequel creeps ever closer, Empire has turned in a report from the Covenant set, which includes new pictures of the striking, decidedly alien environments and the Neomorph, a new strand of the Xenomorph family tree that exists somewhere between an Engineer and H.R. Giger’s perfect organism. Think of the proto-alien glimpsed at the tail-end of Prometheus and you’ll begin to get a sense of what to expect. All of this and more can be glimpsed on AVP Galaxy, and we’ll update this post if and when Empire roll out official screenshots. Until then, these scans ought to sate your appetite.

Alien: Covenant will be with us on May 19th – and there’s still much more in the pipeline. Not only does Ridley Scott have tentative plans in place for Alien: Awakening, but the director has hinted at a whole new trilogy of intergalactic thrills and spills kicking off beyond 2019.
