Alien Prequel Will Be Called Paradise, Not Delayed Anymore

Big day for movie news and it just keeps getting bigger. Now we have some more news on Ridley Scott's upcoming Alien prequel, titled Paradise. Firstly, it is not delayed, that news turned out to be false. Secondly, Scott is looking to cast Michael Fassbender and Michelle Yeoh in the film. Lastly we have some plot details. I know, it's a lot of news, let me take you through it. So first, those pesky rumours about the delay started because DiCaprio had been in talks to star in the film. Obviously Mr. DiCaprio is a very busy man and it turned out that in order to include him, the film would have to be pushed back. It ended up not working out with DiCaprio and he will not appear in the film and the film will not be delayed.

Big day for movie news and it just keeps getting bigger. Now we have some more news on Ridley Scott’s upcoming Alien prequel, titled Paradise. Firstly, it is not delayed, that news turned out to be false. Secondly, Scott is looking to cast Michael Fassbender and Michelle Yeoh in the film. Lastly we have some plot details. I know, it’s a lot of news, let me take you through it.

Secondly, Scott is hoping Fassbender will play the role of David, who is an android. For Yeoh, he’s hoping she will play Vickers who is being described as “a fortysomething, tough-but-sexy woman.” Pretty much the role Michelle Rodriguez was born to, and always does play. Why not just ask her?

I’m a big fan of Fassbender, so definitely happy to see his name being tossed around here. As for Yeoh, I don’t dislike her but I don’t particularly care for her either, doesn’t make a difference to me if she is in it. In additional casting news, Olivia Wilde and Noomi Rapace are said to be in running for the lead role, with my personal vote going to Rapace. Whether either of them actually end up in the film remains to be seen.

And finally the plot. The plot is sad to, “follow a group of space travelers who encounter a monstrous alien creature that picks them off, one by one.” Sound familiar? Sound generic? Ya that’s what we said. It’s just a brief description and I’m sure it will turn out fine. Apparently the folks at FOX loved Damon Lindelof’s script so it must be somewhat decent, right?

So there you have it, your thoughts?
