Amazing Fan-Made Trailer Teases Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker Movie

"All it takes is one bad day to reduce the sanest man alive to lunacy. That's how far the world is from where I am. Just one bad day." When viewing the subject for today's discussion, I couldn't help recalling that standout piece of dialogue taken from Alan Moore and Brian Bolland's classic graphic novel, Batman: The Killing Joke. For those who've read it, you're well aware of how it remains among the definitive tales examining the iconic villain that is the Joker, so keep that in mind as we proceed.

Thanks to JNapierrr over on Twitter, we’ve been gifted with this incredible fan-made teaser crafted in honor of the upcoming origin flick set to star Joaquin Phoenix. Seen below, it offers a glimpse into the mind of the man who’ll one day become the Clown Prince of Crime, not to mention possessing quite the retro vibe.

In all honesty, I could picture director Todd Phillips and company releasing something like this ahead of the film’s debut next year, albeit without stepping on this fan’s toes. If they do go with something this ambitious, it’ll really help with distinguishing the project from other comic book movies out there, for I think it’ll be something truly different.

All praise aside, you have to admit that we could use something positive regarding the subject this week. If you’ll recall, Alec Baldwin had been enlisted to play Thomas Wayne on Monday, only to have him drop out two days later. But hey, at least we know that an industry heavyweight like Robert De Niro is still on board, so there’s something to smile about.

Joker arrives in theaters on October 4th, 2019.
