Last week, Arthur Curry himself, Jason Momoa, shared a behind the scenes look at Aquaman, which is currently undergoing reshoots. As it turns out, it didn’t take long for Arthur’s better half, Mera, portrayed by Amber Heard, to get in on the act, as well. And that’s because the actress posted a BTS photo (seen in the gallery below) of herself in costume with the caption “Aquafied yet again,” officially confirming her participation in the DCEU film’s reshoots.

The James Wan-directed blockbuster is easily one of the year’s most anticipated movies, and in the back half of last week, Aquaman shored up its cast by adding Love, Veep, and Ant-Man and the Wasp star Randall Park. The actor will be playing the role of Dr. Stephen Shin, who first appeared in Geoff Johns’ Aquaman #3.

A scientist and friend of Tom Curry, Arthur’s dad, in the comic books, Shin helped a young Arthur Curry develop his abilities, but later became obsessed with discovering the lost city of Atlantis’ location, naturally putting him at odds with the titular hero.

As if Randall Park’s addition to Aquaman wasn’t enough to disparage the negative feedback received during the film’s test screenings, the other day we reported that the superhero flick could be adding a reference to Superman during said reshoots, too, therefore strengthening its ties to the DCEU.

The standalone film, which was said to be “very emotional” and praiseworthy for its affluence of action out of the same test screenings, will star Jason Momoa as Arthur Curry, Amber Heard as Mera, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta, and Temuera Morrison as Thomas Curry, among others.

Aquaman docks in theaters on December 21st. And for the first time in four years, this Christmas will be completely Star Wars free, as Lucasfilm has angled Solo: A Star Wars Story for release on May 25th.
