It gives us a glimpse of the film's humorous side.

If the second trailer for The Flash has you just as excited for the upcoming DC film as we are, and you’re itching to see just a little bit more of the upcoming movie, then you’re in luck, because the film’s Japanese trailer has a few more scenes for fans to chew on.

While fans who are up to speed (pun intended) on the latest The Flash trailer will find a few of the regional trailer’s moments familiar, there’s a surprising amount of additional morsels to chew on in this iteration – which all in all, is a lot more tonally upbeat than the textbook DC bleakness and grimdark we’re all familiar with:

From the trailer’s opening moments, we’re treated to Ezra Miller’s Barry Allen psyching himself up for a run, only to be accosted by a number of his adoring fans. From there, we then catch a humorous scene which takes place between two Barrys trying to reconcile all the time travel shenanigans that are unfolding. Let’s be honest, time travel in movies is a contentious subject at the best of times – and will no doubt cause a headache or two following the film’s release.

After these two initial scenes, however, the rest of the trailer plays out mostly with moments and dialogue we’ve already caught, including from the film’s two starring Bat-men, Ben Affleck and Michael Keaton, as well as incoming Supergirl Sasha Calle.

With high-profile Hollywood personalities singing praises for The Flash left and right, we wouldn’t mind doing a little bit of time travel ourselves to make the film arrive sooner. In the meantime, the fandom is busy getting giddy over all of the various Man of Steel easter eggs that the trailers so far have featured.

The Flash speeds its way into cinemas on June 16, 2023.
