Thanks to Star Wars.com, we now have some official details on the role that Andy Serkis will be playing in this December’s Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
According to the site, the ubiquitous actor, last seen in Avengers: Age of Ultron, will be taking on the mysterious part of Supreme Leader Snoke, an entirely performance-capture character. Unfortunately, no further details were available on the character, whose name was revealed during an interview with Annie Lebovitz about her long-time gig of taking photos for the Star Wars franchise.
Of course, the question on everyone’s minds is, who is Snoke? And what is he the Supreme Leader of? Maybe the First Order, which would make Serkis one of the major villains of the film alongside a new Sith warrior (Adam Driver) and a chrome Stormtrooper (Gwendoline Christie). Who knows, though? I guess we’ll just have to wait until December to find out.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens opens December 18. In addition to Serkis, it stars Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, Kenny Baker, John Boyega, Lupita Nyong’o, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Domhnall Gleeson, Gwendoline Christie, Max von Sydow and now, Daniel Craig.
