Given the continued success of John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum, it’s no secret that the assassin trilogy is becoming one of Hollywood’s hottest new franchises. The latest, which has made almost $200 million worldwide going into its second weekend, has done so well that Lionsgate announced that they’ve already green-lighted a fourth John Wick movie.
It’s easy to say that there’s a whole lot of talk surrounding the dog-avenging killer, and it looks like acclaimed animation artist Coran Kizer Stone is one such participant. Yesterday, he took to Instagram to give us an idea of how Keanu Reeves, who’s played Wick in all three films, might look in cartoon form.

Though there haven’t been any official talks of a John Wick animated series – at least, as far as we know – these drawings got me hooked on the idea. And given the ever-growing popularity of the franchise, we can only hope that Lionsgate sees what Stone sees and at leasts gives an adult-oriented cartoon some thought.
After all, this wouldn’t be the first time a major blockbuster was accompanied by an animated adventure. Just two years ago, Denis Villeneuve’s Blade Runner 2049 was released alongside a 15-minute short, Black Out 2022, directed by Cowboy Bebop‘s Shinichiro Watanabe.
Given that everything we’ve seen John Wick do has been after his initial “retirement” from the killing game, it’d be interesting if stuntman-turned-director Chad Stahelski took the same approach. Since every assassin and their brother seems to know who Wick is and the carnage he can cause, there’d be a lot of potential prequel material to tap into.
But what do you think? Would you like to see a John Wick animated series one day? If you do, you’d have to wait, but you can still check out John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum in theaters now.
