Ant-Man And The Wasp Helmer All But Confirms Popular Avengers 4 Fan Theory

Peyton Reed, director of Marvel's Ant-Man and the Wasp, has strongly suggested that this Avengers 4 fan theory is actually bang on point.

Take those two words in isolation and they don’t mean an awful lot, but in the context of Ant-Man and the Wasp, they may contain a big clue about the top-secret plot underpinning Avengers 4.

MCU scholars certainly think so, too, as there’ve been countless fan theories spun out from Ant-Man and the Wasp and, in particular, its use of the Quantum Realm, the mysterious netherworld in which Scott Lang was left up shit creek without a paddle. But in what can be seen as a clever piece of Marvel foreshadowing, Scott’s escape route may have been revealed by Janet Van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer), who asks our pint-sized hero that he steer clear of any time vortex – otherwise he risks falling into the MCU equivalent of a black hole.

Nothing ventured, nothing gained, eh? As a matter of fact, Ant-Man and the Wasp helmer Peyton Reed recently sat down with the Huffington Post to discuss all things Marvel Studios, including the tentative link connecting his diminutive sequel with Avengers 4.

Based on the science that we’ve set up in the first movie and this one, I won’t rule out the possibility. Because, again, we are dealing with a time vortex. That could happen. I have to be careful here, as you well know.

Granted, he doesn’t openly confirm anything about Avengers 4 and its mysterious story, but Reed’s comments can be taken as a pretty strong indication that the unnamed sequel will toy around with time vortexes. After all, how else would Scott Lang be able to escape his current predicament?

Moreover, there’s even been claims that the Quantum Realm will be used as a doorway through which Carol Danvers (AKA Captain Marvel) will join the modern-day MCU we know and love. Either way, all will be revealed on May 3rd, 2019.
