Hope Van Dyne won’t be the only one sporting a revamped suit in Ant-Man and the Wasp, as the eagle-eyed folks at Atlanta Filming have now brought us closer to Scott Lang’s new duds as they’ll appear in the 2018 sequel.
Production on Peyton Reed’s pint-sized actioner continues apace ahead of that all-important release date – July 6th for those keeping tabs – and over the weekend Atlanta Filming shared a new set pic (seen in the gallery below, along with a few from last week) that purportedly unveils Paul Rudd’s stunt double. Retaining the same black/red color scheme as its predecessor, this is a much cleaner super-suit for Scott Lang, who gears up “alongside The Wasp as the team works together to uncover secrets from their past.”
Those breadcrumbs will seemingly lead our miniature heroes on a quest to find Janet van Dyne, the original Wasp who slipped into the Quantum Realm during the height of the Cold War. Her selfless act ultimately averted catastrophe, though her surviving spouse, Hank Pym, has been questioning her “death” ever since. Perhaps we’ll get some cold hard answers come 2018?
What we do know is that Ant-Man and the Wasp has fleshed out its core cast with a raft of big-name additions, including John Wick star Laurence Fishburne as Dr. Bill Foster, along with Tomb Raider duo Hannah John-Kamen (Ghost) and Walton Goggins, and Randall Park as Jimmy Woo. But perhaps most exciting of all is the inclusion of Murder On the Orient Express actress Michelle Pfeiffer, who has signed on to play the long-lost Janet van Dyne in 2018.
Sandwiched between Infinity War and Avengers 4 on the MCU timeline, Marvel fans are beginning to wonder how Ant-Man and the Wasp fits into the bigger picture. Expect those answers, and much more, to be revealed as we approach that July 6th, 2018 release date.
