‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania’ antis will never forgive its most derided moment

It's a pretty bad scene to be fair.

There are plenty of things about Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania to hate, but fans have singled out one moment near the end of the film for its exceptionally poor writing and acting. Even so long after the film’s release, they can’t forgive the cringey exchange.

For the unaware, the scene we’re talking about comes at the climax of the film during the final fight with Kang. Cassie and M.O.D.O.K. have a brief fight, ending with Cassie being the victor. What follows is what many are dubbing as some of the worst writing the modern MCU has to offer, along with a sprinkling of equally bad delivery.

Users banded together to collectively mock the bad exchange and just generally laugh at the film’s poor excuse for an emotional moment.

Even more fans piled on to proclaim Cassie and M.O.D.O.K. the worst characters in the MCU.

Those who hated the scene still had good things to say about the movie as a whole so it’s not just Quantumania haters trying to put the scene down. Kang’s dialogue was praised by many, so at least some of the writers were obviously trying.

The anger and disappointment for Quantumania are still strong. The digital release has re-opened a barely healed wound, and people are finding even more things to hate about it. However, that’s not to say there weren’t good parts of the film — like all Marvel movies, it has strengths and weaknesses. Maybe in a year’s time, we’ll look back on the third Ant-Man and realize that we, much like M.O.D.O.K., were just being dicks.
