Ant-Man And The Wasp Trailer Theory Points To Possible Avengers 4 Connection

Screen Rant has pieced together a rather intriguing theory for Ant-Man and the Wasp that points to a possible Avengers 4 connection.

As the third and final Marvel movie of 2018, there’s a particular set of expectations resting on the tiny shoulders of Ant-Man and the Wasp.

Slated for release in July, and therefore after Black Panther and Avengers: Infinity War, you’d be forgiven for wondering how Peyton Reed could possibly capture lightning in a bottle again. After all, the original Ant-Man movie was a smart, rib-tickling addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe that packed more breakout characters (Michael Peña’s Luis, for instance) and jaw-dropping CGI than you could shake a mango fruit blast at.

But there’s reason to be hopeful, as Ant-Man and the Wasp heralds the moment when Hope Van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly) suits up alongside Scott Lang, forging a diminutive superhero team the likes of which we’ve never seen before. However that may be, there’s more to this morning’s trailer than meets the eye.

According to the folks over at Screen Rant, the opening quote from Scott Lang (“I just have one question: when Cap needed help, if I had’ve asked you, would you have come?”) may be a subtle nod to the story of Avengers 4, which allegedly features elements of time travel.

Could it be that the Russo Brothers plan to rewind back to Civil War in order to add Wasp into the equation? We know Spider-Man: Homecoming filmed scenes in and around Germany as a means of incorporating the famous airport showdown into its story, but the idea that Avengers 4 will call upon a similar trick is a bit of a stretch. And that’s putting it mildly.

Real heroes…just not actual size. Ant-Man and the Wasp makes a beeline for theaters on July 6th.
