Ant-Man And The Wasp Stars Want An All-Insect MCU Team-Up

We've seen a lot of crossovers and team-ups over the first ten years of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, from the Avengers to the Guardians to the unlikely mismatched pairings of Infinity War. Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly of Ant-Man and the Wasp have a new idea for the next superhero team-up, though, and it involves getting all the insect-themed Marvel heroes together.

We’ve seen a lot of crossovers and team-ups over the first ten years of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, from the Avengers to the Guardians to the unlikely mismatched pairings of Infinity WarPaul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly of Ant-Man and the Wasp have a new idea for the next superhero team-up, though, and it involves getting all the insect-themed Marvel heroes together.

While speaking to Italian site Movieplayer.it, Rudd and Lilly were asked what other heroes would they be willing to see join their gang in future movies. Rudd had an idea right away and jumped in with his choice of Peter Parker AKA Spider-Man.

“I would say probably Spider-Man, because we’ve got wasps, ants, and spiders.”

Lilly was already thinking along the same lines and suggested that Mantis or Black Widow could team up with Ant-Man and the Wasp as well.

“See, I was gonna say Mantis for that same reason. Or it could be Black Widow!”

It seems that the actress would particularly like to be paired with Pom Klementieff’s Guardian, as she thinks it would be fun to share a scene with the naive Mantis.

“There’s a lot of insects, but I was sort of thinking it would be really fun to do scenes with Mantis [laughs]. She’s great.”

Paul Rudd then went on to admit that he has a fondness for Mantis as well. “Mantis is great,” he said. “I love Mantis, but I didn’t think of her first.” Lilly encouraged him to stick with his initial choice, though, and said “go Tom Holland, go Spider-Man.” Rudd agreed, adding that he likes Holland as a person. “He’s such a nice kid,” the actor stated.

This sounds like just a fun joke but, you know, it’s probably not that far-fetched, as Marvel’s never been afraid of playing with all of its action figures in one go. The only thing is that Thanos’ apocalyptic finger snap took out both Spider-Man, Mantis and Wasp (as revealed in Ant-Man and the Wasp), so we’ll have to wait for Avengers 4 to find out if they get resurrected.
