New Ant-Man And The Wasp Clip Kicks It Into High Gear

Being someone who admittedly didn't care for the first film that much, I can say that Ant-Man and the Wasp looks to be the very definition of a movie warranting giving a franchise a second chance. In short, I find myself being continually impressed by every new trailer and clip hitting the web.

What’s been really increasing the appeal to me is how director Peyton Reed and company have thought out innovative ways of showcasing the titular heroes’ powers. Really, if the promotional footage released thus far is any indication of what the final product will yield, we’re in for a magnum opus when it comes to action scene choreography.

The latest exhibit (seen at the top) shows Evangeline Lilly’s Hope Van Dyne getting in the thick of it, thus allowing us to sample what appears to be a snippet taken from a car chase we’ve been seeing in various trailers and TV spots. And now that we’re able to see almost a minute of said white-knuckle ride, I can’t help but feel what I’ve said in the paragraphs above has been validated.

What I’ve especially been happy to hear is that this flick will stand on its own two legs and won’t be reliant on Avengers: Infinity War‘s ending, which saw Thanos snuff out half of all life in the universe with a mere snap of his fingers, lest we forget Reed saying the following:

“With huge personal stakes and, and huge other stakes that are really separate of what’s going on with Infinity War. So that’s is something that was really, really appealing to me is to not have to… We have enough stuff to track in this movie without having to sort of keep abreast of what’s going on in that.”

Ant-Man and the Wasp opens in theaters on July 6th.
