Since then, the veteran actor inhabited the role of Daily Planet editor-in-chief Perry White in both Man of Steel and Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, soon after which he made the jump from DC back to Marvel by landing the Bill Foster gig in Ant-Man and the Wasp.

Now, we said “back to Marvel” because, don’t forget, Fishburne actually voiced one of their most powerful characters more than a decade ago, something he pointed out on the red carpet when Marvel Entertainment correspondents asked which other icon he’d like to play:

“Well, you know this is not my first time in the MCU: I was actually the voice of the Silver Surfer. And if they ever go back to that again – if it was a villain – I would love to do Galactus.”

Like Laurence said, he’d previously voiced Norrin Radd in 2007’s Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, in which he heralded the arrival of a giant cloud which we were forced to acknowledge as being Galactus. But if the villain were to one day be rebooted for moviegoing audiences as the gargantuan fella capable of devouring planets that comic book readers are familiar with, then I guess Kevin Feige should hang onto Fishburne’s phone number.

Of course, introducing Galactus into the Marvel Cinematic Universe proper has everything to do with the Disney-Fox merger going through, so all we can really do is sit back and see how the situation pans out.

Ant-Man and the Wasp, meanwhile, arrives in theaters on July 6th.
