We have a pretty good idea of how many of Marvel’s most popular established franchises are set to continue over the next few years, from Captain America 4 arriving in May 2024 to Deadpool 3 following that same November. One of the biggest that remains up in the air, however, is the fate of Spider-Man. Following the phenomenal success of Spider-Man: No Way Home, everyone expects both Sony and Marvel to want more of Tom Holland’s Peter Parker as much as the fans do, and yet exactly what shape Spider-Man 4 could take remains as mysterious as Quentin Beck.

Nevertheless, the title tradition that has built up across the MCU’s Jon Watts-directed trilogy might be leading some to wondering if the secret name of the next cinematic outing for the webslinger has already come out. A title circling the film you may have heard of is Spider-Man: New Home, a play on the Home titling convention and the big change to Peter’s status quo at the end of NWH. But is this really what the movie is being called?

Is Spider-Man: New Home the real title of Spider-Man 4?

To put it simply, no — Spider-Man: New Home is not the actual title of Spider-Man 4, at least as far as we know. No report or rumor, and certainly not any kind of official announcement, gives us any reason to believe that Sony is seriously considering this as the subtitle of the next Spidey flick.

And yet that has done nothing to stop the would-be blockbuster title doing the rounds online. A quick YouTube search reveals a handful of fan-made teaser trailers for Spider-Man 4 that all employ the New Home title idea. While the likes of Screen Culture, Cinematic Pro Studio, and TMConcept Official have taken a stab at it, the earliest use of the title in this context appears to be a video posted by Teaser Pro back in Feb. 2023.

What many of these movie concept trailers have in common is that, as part of the Multiverse Saga’s ongoing narrative, Holland’s Peter will travel over into Sony’s Spider-Man universe and do battle with the likes of Tom Hardy’s Venom. This was something that was teased at the end of Venom: Let There Be Carnage, before No Way Home bizarrely sent Eddie Brock straight home without the two characters coming face to face. So, as a prediction for the future, this crossover isn’t a bad guess.

At present, though, it’s unclear what Sony and Marvel have planned for the webhead so it’s premature to start guessing about him finding a new home.
