Arnold Schwarzenegger May Reteam With James Cameron For Avatar 2

He's back! After making the career choice to drop politics and return to acting, Arnold Schwarzenegger is mounting his comeback in a big way. He made his official return with The Last Stand, which opened to mediocre reviews earlier this year. He also has a film with Sylvester Stallone titled Escape Plan that will be hitting theatres shortly. Aside from those two projects, the actor also has about seven other films that are currently in development. Now, he may be adding one more movie to his slate: Avatar 2.

Yup, that’s right, James Cameron wants to re-team with his Terminator star for the upcoming sequel, which is due out in 2016. The director is looking to Schwarzenegger to play the villain in the film. Though we don’t have any specifics on the character, Latino Review tells us that the actor will step into the role of a “bad guy human general,” which does sound like someone that Schwarzenegger could easily play.

While I can’t see the Austrian actor fitting into the Avatar world, a reunion between him and Cameron would certainly be fun to watch. I just wish it was for another film. I feel like Schwarzenegger would stick out too much in Avatar 2 and would take the spotlight away from not only the other actors, but from the world of Pandora itself, which is a huge draw of the film.

For now, nothing is confirmed and this is only a rumor. Should it prove to be true though, we’ll let you know.
