At the time of writing, we are exactly one year out from the release of Justin Kurzel’s Assassin’s Creed movie and quite possibly a defining moment in the history of video game movies. To commemorate the occasion, Ubisoft Motion Pictures and 20th Century Fox have jump-started the film’s viral marketing campaign, and it didn’t take long for fans to deduce the first secret.

Abstergo Industries is set to play an instrumental role in Kurzel’s live-action feature, and even from the set photos released thus far, we’ve garnered a sense of the style and tone that the studio is aiming for. Now, we have confirmation of when we’ll be able to see that vision in motion, as the first trailer for Assassin’s Creed will be attached to Zack Snyder’s Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice.

In appropriately clandestine fashion, Ubisoft Tweeted out a business card belonging to one Alan Rikkin, CEO of the aforementioned conglomerate. And so, when eager fans contacted the phone number on the card, a voice message revealed that the executive would “be out of the office on business until March 25 with limited availability.”

It’s by no means conclusive, but it would appear that Fox is aligning its budding franchise starter with one of the biggest films of 2016. Here’s the Tweet in question.

Stepping into the shoes – and robes – of Callum Lynch is Michael Fassbender, with Marion Cotillard completing the Macbeth reunion. Set for release on December 21, 2016, Kurzel’s Assassin’s Creed also welcomes Dawn of Justice star Jeremy Irons and Brendan Gleeson to the cast.
