Nicole Kidman, Guy Pearce and Hugo Weaving are getting together for a trip back to their homeland to film Strangerland, an indie feature from director Kim Farrant.
Scripted by Fiona Seres and Michael Kinirons, the mystery thriller will follow Catherine and Matthew Parker, who find their marriage “pushed to the brink when their two teenage children disappear into the remote Australian desert and they are forced to confront the mystery of their children’s fate.”
No details have been revealed in regards to which roles the actors will take but I would imagine that Pearce and Kidman will likely step into the shoes of Catherine and Matthew Parker, though that hasn’t been confirmed just yet.
Unfortunately, we don’t have much more to go on right now but the film does sound promising. The three aforementioned actors are some of the most talented Aussies working in Hollywood and with their involvement, I’m hoping that we may see some more Australian talent sign on. Perhaps Russell Crowe or Hugh Jackman?
