Infinity War Scribes Game For Another MCU Gig After Avengers 4

Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely’s combined importance to the MCU cannot be overstated.

Since the creative duo first signed on to pen Captain America: The First Avenger, they’ve worked alongside Joe and Anthony Russo for The Winter Soldier, Civil War and, more recently, the back-to-back release of Infinity War and the untitled Avengers 4.

It makes for a pretty incredible track record, though it’s one that Markus and McFeely hope to continue beyond 2019. While discussing Infinity War in a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter (h/t CBM), McFeely began by hyping up the super-secret Avengers 4, which is seemingly even more mind-blowing than its titanic predecessor – so much so, in fact, that the duo would be proud to call it their final MCU writing gig.

If it is, we’re pretty happy with it. Because boy, Avengers 4, if anything, is better than what you just saw.

That’s exciting in and of itself, as it tells us Marvel Studios has already made its preparations for the finale of Avengers 4. And after that? A Phase 4 that will presumably venture into the unknown, and while nothing is official just yet, McFeely went on to admit that both he and Markus would be game for another MCU gig at some point in the future.

We’re very pleased with how it’s shaping up. We started this new company. We would love to go back to Marvel at some point, if they’ll have us. But we have this weird, new job where we get to help out a lot of other projects and write our own. It’s really sort of a dream scenario. If it doesn’t kill us, we’d like to try it for a while.

Marvel, are you listening? Truth be told, it’ll be some time yet before we have a better understanding of Phase 4, as Avengers: Infinity War has only just arrived. Still, it’s already made a huge dent at the global box office.
