Avengers 4 Footage Description Debunked; Here’s What Was Really Shown

Over at MCU Cosmic, Jeremy Conrad has shared some new CineEurope intel that ought to set the record straight regarding Avengers 4.

It seems the Avengers 4 showreel that was in attendance during yesterday’s CineEurope event wasn’t the crowd-pleasing spectacle we were led to believe.

Over on MCU Cosmic, industry tipster Jeremy Conrad put together a report that essentially helps set the record straight: primarily, Marvel Studios delivered a featurette of sorts that was specifically tailored to the target audience, which is to say that the footage shown involved Kevin Feige talking directly to exhibitors and Marvel’s partners, intercut with brief, behind-the-scenes clips from Joe and Anthony Russo’s 2019 sequel.

So those initial reports of Scott Lang and Tony Stark discussing different realities and Infinity Stones are “100% bogus,” according to Conrad, who relayed some intel of his own:

It was basically Kevin Feige sitting in a chair talking about the movie while some behind-the-scenes clips played and apologizing to the exhibitors there for there being so many fewer heroes to sell to their customers. It was a custom-made video just for the exhibitors and meant to make them laugh as the Marvel characters make them a lot of money and Feige killed most of them in the last movie. He said the remaining heroes would need to come back together as a team in Avengers Untitled.

Frankly, this is the more plausible report, as Avengers 4 is currently bracing for a summer of reshoots and is therefore unlikely to drop any tangible footage until Joe and Anthony Russo are happy with their sequel. It’s only a matter of time, really, but one thing’s for sure: the 2019 event film will be huge with a capital ‘H.’

Avengers Untitled Avengers 4 opens big on May 3rd, 2019, and may well follow Infinity War‘s journey into April. File that one in the rumor cabinet for now, though, which is currently filled to the brim with unconfirmed tidbits relating to Earth’s Mightiest Heroes and their next big-screen adventure.
