As of today, January 11th, filming on Avengers 4 has officially wrapped, with the Marvel sequel now expected to undergo an extensive spell in post-production – those mind-numbing special effects aren’t going to render themselves, you know – ahead of its launch in 2019.

But for now, it’s party time, as Joe and Anthony Russo have shared a celebratory photo of their Thanos-themed cake, and, well, the Infinity Stones are quite literally the icing on the cake. We’ll see ourselves out…

It’s the beginning of the end, ladies and gentlemen, as Avengers 4 is expected to kill off a number of big-name characters come 2019. Drax the Destroyer has already been linked with an early exit, while there are also expiring contracts to take into consideration.

Those stars seemingly approaching the end of their tether include Robert Downey Jr., Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Chris Evans and Chris Hemsworth, though the latter has since expressed an interest in hanging around the MCU long after Avengers 4. Perhaps that’ll pave the way for a fourth Thor movie? Taika Waititi certainly has a few ideas kicking around.

In the space of 12 short months, Marvel will deliver a one-two punch of epic proportions, as Infinity War is all set to bring the hype on May 4th, 2018, before its sequel – a sequel known only as Avengers 4…for now – tends to unfinished business on May 3rd of 2019. And after that? Well, let’s just say the MCU will never be the same again.
