In Tom Holland’s defense, it’s been a while now since he’s lived up to his reputation of being a blabbermouth, with perhaps the last major spoiler he dropped being back in June when he gave away the title of Spider-Man: Far From Home – and even that reveal was most likely coordinated with the studio beforehand. Nonetheless, the jokes at his expense keep coming, with Sebastian Stan being the latest in line to troll his Avengers 4 co-star.
The Bucky Barnes actor recently appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, where he was asked which Avengers cast member he least liked working with. Naturally, he went with everyone’s favorite MCU punching bag not named ‘Mark Ruffalo.’
“Oh dear god, you know the man. I mean Tom Holland is a problem,” Stan replied. “That was the other thing, I didn’t have to wear a Spider-Man suit tonight.”
That last part was presumably a reference to Holland’s Kimmel appearance from a few weeks ago, where the star appeared in costume and in character, but made a swift exit before he could lay to rest the speculation on whether Far From Home is or isn’t a prequel to Avengers: Infinity War.
Anyway, after Stan’s answer, Kimmel decided to throw Holland a bone by admitting that he “might be the nicest kid in the world, right?” to which Stan threw in one final dig at the guy:
“Yeah, he keeps adding in a lot of hair gel to make up for things”
Though Holland’s reputation is not without some cause, Stan is hardly blameless himself, having previously spoiled that both he and Michael Douglas will be appearing in Avengers 4, despite both of these characters dying in Thanos’ purge of the universe. To be fair, though, it hardly comes as a surprise to learn that we’ll be seeing more of the Winter Soldier, given that recent reports have already indicated that Bucky and his friend Falcon have their own TV show in the works.
In any case, we’ll see what’s next for Stan when Avengers 4 comes out on May 3rd, 2019. After that, it’s only a short wait until Spider-Man: Far From Home hits theaters on July 5th.
