Avengers: Endgame Headed Back In Front Of Cameras For Reshoots

There are just 99 days left until we're sat in a theater waiting for Avengers: Endgame to begin. There are just 99 days left until we’re sat in a theater waiting for Avengers: Endgame to begin. That’s not too far away, but it sounds like the Russo Brothers and the film’s cast are still hard at work, with some of the stars now back in front of cameras for what should be the final bit of shooting.

This means that Endgame will have an unusually long production schedule, as the bulk of filming took place in the second half of 2017, with additional work happening in September and October. What we’re seeing now are probably the final pickups/reshoots that the Russos realized they needed during the editing process. And, thanks to a couple of social media posts, we know who’s returned.

For one, Karen Gillan’s Nebula’s back, with the actress announcing on Twitter that she was “washing the blue from under my fingernails one more time,” while Zoe Saldana shared a few videos of her having her Gamora makeup applied. But what could these two returning to the movie signify?

Well, in the original Infinity War comic series, Nebula eventually took control of the Infinity Gauntlet and was instrumental in undoing Thanos’ snap. Things probably won’t go down quite that way in Endgame, but I wouldn’t be surprised if Nebula plays a fairly big role in taking the Mad Titan down. And if that’s indeed the case, then it makes sense for them to bring back Gamora and fully resolve some of the familial tension going on between Thanos and his two daughters.

In fact, this could very well be the emotional climax of the film, so it makes sense that the Russos want to make sure it’s exactly right – hence bringing back Gillan and Saldana one last time. We’ll find out for certain though on April 26th, when Avengers: Endgame opens big.
