Avengers: Endgame has managed to beat yet another commercial record over on Atom Tickets, where the film is now the biggest pre-seller in the history of the site.
In its first 10 days, the Avengers: Infinity War sequel beat the pre-sales record that last year’s Aquaman set over the course of 32 days. In a recent statement, Atom Tickets chairman and co-founder Matthew Bakal shared a few thoughts on the feature’s remarkable performance.
“The Avengers: Endgame phenomenal pre-sales period has proven it is in a league of its own,” Bakal said. “The anticipation and excitement for this movie is simply unmatched and the only question is how much farther will pre-sales climb with another two weeks to go. We’re in awe of the creative work Marvel, Disney, the cast and crew have put into making Avengers: Endgame a global event for all Marvel fans to experience together as the final chapter comes to life in theaters.”
Earlier this month, Atom reported that Endgame managed to triple the first day pre-sales of Infinity War in its first hour. After its first week, the film had sold nearly twice as many tickets as Aquaman, Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Infinity War and Captain Marvel combined.
Anthony and Joe Russo’s upcoming flick has found similar success over on Fandango. After smashing the site’s 24-hour pre-sales record held by Star Wars: The Force Awakens in a mere six hours, Endgame went on to beat the the same film’s record for first week pre-sales. On top of that, the movie managed to outsell Infinity War at a ratio of 5:1 in its first week.
In the all-important China market, meanwhile, Endgame sold over 1 million tickets in a record-breaking six hours. The film also sold more tickets in its first hour than Infinity War managed in its first 24, before topping the first week pre-sales of Infinity War in just three hours.
Naturally, these advance ticket sales are translating into some generous projections. Deadline, for instance, recently reported that the movie is headed for a global opening well above $800 million. A staggering figure to say the least, but we’ll find out if Avengers: Endgame can live up to expectations when it arrives in theaters on April 26th.
