Marvel Studios’ panel at San Diego Comic Con might not be until later today, but the co-directors of Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame have already managed to get the drop on their Marvel Cinematic Universe stablemates by hosting a panel of their own.
A Conversation with the Russo Brothers saw Joe and Anthony take the stage to take a deep dive into their careers and reveal information about both their previous projects and what’s next on the agenda for the filmmaking duo. Obviously, there were a lot of MCU and Endgame-related questions, and the brothers were more than happy to indulge the fans by debuting a brand new trailer (seen above) to promote the upcoming home video release of the blockbuster superhero epic.
With Endgame marking the culmination of the first three phases of the MCU, the bonus features take a look back at the decade-plus history of the franchise so far. Along with six deleted scenes, a gag reel and a tribute to Stan Lee, there are also individual featurettes focusing on Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, the women of the MCU and the Russos themselves that trace the journey and evolution of the studio’s groundbreaking shared universe.
Avengers: Endgame may not have been able to wrestle the crown of highest-grossing movie in history away from James Cameron’s Avatar just yet, but it nonetheless remains an incredible achievement in filmmaking that ties up and pays off the plot threads established across twenty-one previous movies, and with so much additional content, the home video release is shaping up to be a must-have for longtime fans of the MCU.
