Avengers: Endgame Directors Guess Which MCU Role Keanu Reeves Might Get

Between the recent success of John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum and a pair of scene-stealing turns in Toy Story 4 and Always Be My Maybe, Keanu Reeves’ acting career is currently in the best place it’s been in many years. As it stands, we’re still waiting to find out what role, if any, Reeves might land in the MCU, but in a recent interview with IMDb, Avengers: Endgame co-directors Anthony and Joe Russo took a moment to weigh in on the matter. When host Kevin Smith asked the pair who the Matrix star might play, they were initially hesitant to give an answer, with Joe arguing that the possibilities are “limitless.” However, when Smith offered the suggestion of Moon Knight, Joe admitted that it was “a good call.”

Indeed, even Marvel Comics artist Bill Sienkiewicz showed his support for the idea earlier this month, tweeting that Reeves “would nail every one of MK’s alternate personalities.” The suggestion certainly has plenty of backing from the fans, though the internet has also proposed a variety of alternatives, from Adam Warlock to Reed Richards of the Fantastic Four.

Incidentally, Avengers: Endgame co-writer Christopher Markus has previously expressed an interest in penning a Moon Knight story, while Kevin Feige has hinted that the hero just might have a future in the franchise. Whether or not this tease will ever lead into an actual project remains to be seen, but in the meantime, Marvel Studios will have their hands full enough with the MCU’s Phase 4, which kicks off with the release of Black Widow on May 1st, 2020.

As for Reeves, the star is currently at work on Bill & Ted Face the Music, which is scheduled to hit theaters on August 21st 0f next year.
