After Avengers: Infinity War was filmed in full IMAX ratio, it only figured that Avengers: Endgame would get the same treatment, and now that we’ve seen the first trailer for the Russo Brothers’ next film, it seems that the teaser is just days away from making its own jump to a higher resolution.
Trailer Track’s Anton Volkov took to Twitter with the news that viewers will be able to see the Endgame preview blown up large this weekend, presumably at IMAX screenings of the new Aquaman:
“Cool #AvengersEndgame teaser tidbit – in IMAX theatres this weekend, like with the second IW trailer, it will be presented in expanded 1.9:1 aspect ratio”
While this year’s Infinity War was the first major studio feature to be shot entirely with IMAX digital cameras, the company has been a regular collaborator with Marvel Studios ever since the release of 2010’s Iron Man 2. Still, you can expect the demand to be especially high for IMAX screenings of the grand finale of Marvel’s Phase 3 as viewers seek to witness the end of an era in a screen that’s big enough to get lost in.
As for when we might see further footage from the Infinity War sequel, the speculation has already started. While some fans have predicted that the 53rd Super Bowl on February 3rd would be the opportune time to premiere a second trailer, other sources have alleged that the preview is more likely to come our way in March, potentially to accompany the release of Captain Marvel.
But regardless of when the next Avengers: Endgame preview arrives and the screens it arrives on, the whole thing will be viewable in cinemas from April 26th, 2019.
