In the months leading up to Avengers: Endgame, the movie’s marketing brought the hype up to a whole other level by creating an intriguing sense of mystery around the project. Until recently, filmgoers knew very little about the Avengers: Infinity War sequel, and that’s precisely why they were so pumped to see it.

Now that the movie is finally in theaters, however, we’ve seen a distinct change in approach with the promotion. Take this new TV spot for example, which features the scene of the two Captain Americas fighting, and by extension, pretty much gives away the film’s time travel plot. Co-directors Anthony and Joe Russo may have recently announced that the spoiler ban lifts on Monday, but it looks like even their own marketing team isn’t sticking to the schedule.

And to be honest, why would they? After all, with a global gross of $1.786 billion, the Russo Brothers’ latest release is already the fifth highest grossing film of all time. With that in mind, how many spoiler-conscious Marvel fans who’ve yet to see Endgame can still be left in the world?

In any case, the new promo also offers further glimpses of Pepper Potts in her Rescue suit, Thor’s new look and Professor Hulk – all elements that were completely absent from Endgame’s promotional footage prior to release. Clearly, the veil of secrecy has been lifted, though right now, the fans seemingly have more questions than ever about the future of the MCU.

So far, Marvel Studios has yet to officially announce a single film beyond 2019, but reports indicate that a Black Widow solo movie will be the first entry in Phase 4 of the franchise. In the meantime, we’ll likely find out how the events of Avengers: Endgame have impacted the cinematic universe when Spider-Man: Far From Home hits theaters on July 2nd.
