Avengers: Endgame Theory Explains How Loki May Have Survived

A new Avengers: Endgame theory explains how Loki may have survived his apparent death in Infinity War, and it actually makes sense.

Among the many deaths we saw in Avengers: Infinity War, it’s become quite clear by now that many of them are going to be reversed in next year’s Avengers: Endgame, including some, if not all, of the victims of Thanos’ genocidal finger-snap. Still, even with that being said, the fact that Loki met his end from more conventional means leads us to believe that his death may be a little more permanent than those of the dusted heroes.

That doesn’t mean fans have stopped speculating on ways he could’ve survived, though. After all, the God of Mischief is known for his deceptive ways, having already faked his death in The Dark World. As such, the theories continue to roll in and the latest one comes from Reddit, with one user putting forth some interesting evidence to suggest that Loki may make a surprising return in Endgame.

Here’s how the post reads:

Loki isn’t dead. He used his clone power or whatever it’s called. He’s a god of mischief.

First of all, his suspicious “re-entrance” from the side after the Thanos and Hulk fight should be noted. Second, He’s not going to try to “sneakily” stab Thanos in front of him without using a clone, he’s not stupid. Third, Thor said something along the lines of “I don’t think he’s resurrecting this time” (also Thanos touched on that when he “killed” him) but when Thor said it I felt like the directors/writers were winking at us or reminding us in a too obvious way.

I’m sure there are hundreds of “Loki isn’t actually dead” theories but I wanted to throw my “evidence” (if you can even call it that) out there. Also because there are a lot of “everyone before the snap are dead” theories that I wanted to touch on Loki specifically because he seems like the most obvious one to be alive.

While this is certainly interesting to think about, it’s important to remember that Anthony and Joe Russo confirmed at a Q&A last month that the former Avengers villain is definitely dead. Then again, the directors have lied to us before and we already know that Loki is set to return in his very own Disney Plus TV show.

This, of course, raises the question of whether his death might just be reversed in Avengers: Endgame, along with the fates suffered by the many his peers. For now, all we can do is speculate, but you can be sure that the theories will continue to surface right up until the aforementioned film hits theaters.
