This month has seen an abundance of Avengers: Endgame toy leaks emerge online, several of which have served to confirm the long-running belief that the Avengers: Infinity War sequel will see numerous heroes in some shiny new white suits. Better yet, Screen Rant has observed that one little feature on the costumes may tell us just what these outfits are meant for.
It’s already become common practice to refer to these costumes as ‘Quantum Realm suits,’ and there’s perhaps good reason for that. After all, it’s pretty well established by now that this mysterious place will be of great significance in the upcoming flick, suggesting that several characters will journey into the microverse last seen in Ant-Man and the Wasp. Another theory that’s proved even more popular is that our heroes will travel back in time in an effort to reverse the Decimation that concluded Infinity War, and seeing how the Quantum Realm is known to feature a phenomenon known as ‘time vortexes,’ many fans have understandably put two and two together to suggest that the realm will serve as a gateway to the past.
In any case, Screen Rant has pointed out that all of the white suits include a little device on the back of wrist, and while it’s unclear exactly what this accessory does, we’ve already seen a prop that looks a lot like it worn by Paul Rudd and Robert Downey Jr. on an Endgame set that recreates the Battle of New York from 2012’s The Avengers.
So, if we go along with the theory that Ant-Man and Iron Man are in this scene by way of time travel, we could perhaps conclude that our heroes used the suits to journey into the past before ditching these highly conspicuous outfits when they arrived at their destination, keeping only their wrist devices. Granted, this is still just speculation for the time being, but we’ll find out if there’s any truth to the theory when Avengers: Endgame hits theaters on April 26th, 2019.
