Avengers: Endgame’s Dark Opening Scene Has Been Revealed

Though Avengers: Endgame is now less than three weeks away from hitting theaters, Marvel Studios is still keeping its cards close its chest when it comes to what we can actually expect to see in the Avengers: Infinity War sequel. Though Avengers: Endgame is now less than three weeks away from hitting theaters, Marvel Studios is still keeping its cards close its chest when it comes to what we can actually expect to see in the Avengers: Infinity War sequel. Nonetheless, a now-deleted Tweet from a journalist who’s asked to remain nameless has spilled the beans on the film’s opening scene, and apparently, it’s pretty dark.

Though we won’t post the Tweet here, it revealed that Endgame reportedly kicks off with Tony and Nebula, presumably stuck in space as we’ve seen in the trailers. The description goes on to describe it as a “dark” and “desperate” sequence, all set to the tune of “Dear Mr. Fantasy” by the band Traffic. There’s also mention of some incredible visual effects work in the scene, which we don’t doubt, and though the Tweet doesn’t reveal much more than that, we can already begin to form an idea of how things will begin when we finally make our way into theaters to watch the film later this month.

Of course, the real question here is how these two heroes ultimately make it back to Earth. We know that they do, thanks to the various bits of footage we’ve seen in the trailers, but how they return is still a mystery. For instance, are they saved by one of the other characters – perhaps Captain Marvel, or maybe Rocket? – or are they able to figure it out on their own and work out a way to head back home using just their brains and what they’ve got with them on the ship?

Unfortunately, we can’t answer any of that just yet, but with Avengers: Endgame now only a few weeks away and press screenings getting underway very shortly, no doubt at least a little more information about what’s in store for us will begin to leak out. Even if the film’s biggest secrets will probably remain under wraps right up until release.
