Captain Marvel is the most successful movie of the year so far, with Brie Larson’s Carol Danvers instantly being catapulted into the top league of MCU heroes ahead of her role in this week’s Avengers: Endgame. As with everything popular, though, some folks online seem to have it in for the film and its star and are spreading misinformation and rumors about Larson on social media.

You might have come across all the chatter about her rivalry with Chris Hemsworth on the Endgame press tour, in which the pair have been fueling a faux feud that likely mirrors Thor and Carol’s relationship in the film. It’s just banter between co-stars, of course, but some are convinced that there’s a genuine fallout happening here. Especially since there’s been persistent rumors that Larson was difficult to work with on set and some of the female stars, in particular, didn’t get along with her.

War Machine himself, Don Cheadle, has stepped forward to clear up this nonsense, though. In response to a fan who tweeted that he thought Cheadle and Hemsworth didn’t like Larson, the star shut them down in the best way. “You kids are hilarious,” he quipped in his first tweet on the topic.

Replying to another tweet from the same user, Cheadle added: “Whoever you are, you’re reading in. Take a break from your detective work. We’re all good. Hope you enjoy the movie.” The star then followed this up by tweeting Larson directly: “So many speculators tonight, man. See you tomorrow.” Cheadle’s referring to the world premiere of Endgame in Los Angeles, which is taking place tonight.

For those who haven’t seen it yet, in the Entertainment Tonight interview in question, Brie Larson discusses what it was like to find her way through her character on the set of Endgame. The actress then nudges her co-stars and says “Wasn’t it fun being there for all my extra takes?” Cheadle then feigns irritation and jokes: “What did I tell you about the touching?” Everyone involved is clearly in good humor though, if not a little tired by the never-ending press tour, so there’s really nothing more to infer here.

In any case, it’s nice to see Cheadle shutting down the haters and you can catch Captain Marvel, Thor and War Machine, along with many others, in Avengers: Endgame this Friday, April 26th.
