Infinity War Gets The Retro Treatment With New Fan-Made Trailer

YouTube wizard Darth Blender has produced another old-school trailer, only this time, it's Avengers: Infinity War that has been given the retro treatment.

Only two weeks have passed since Marvel welcomed the arrival of the first Avengers: Infinity War teaser and already, Joe and Anthony Russo’s starry tentpole has racked up a staggering 100 million views on YouTube.

That number continues to climb at an exponential rate, so it’s small wonder why Infinity War now holds the title as the most-watched trailer debut of all time within 24 hours. But YouTube content creator and all-around video wizard Darth Blender has produced a decidedly different take on the Avengers: Infinity War trailer.

Much like Darth Blender’s videos for Justice League, Injustice II and Spider-Man: Homecoming, this latest sizzle reel (see below) gives Infinity War the retro treatment, and is edited in such a way that Reb Brown and Burt Reynolds take point as Iron Man and Captain America.

With Thanos’ arrival imminent, Earth’s Mightiest Heroes begin to fall into place, including Lou Ferrigno’s Hulk, Leonora Ruffo as Black Widow, and the inimitable David Hasselhoff as Nick Fury. In this alternate universe, there’s also room for the Fantastic Four, who are brought to life by Alex Hyde-White (Reed Richards), Rebecca Staab (Sue Storm), Jay Underwood (Johnny Storm), and Carl Ciarfalio, who plays the Thing.

Including Marvel’s First Family may turn out to be a prescient move on Darth Blender’s part, given the advanced negotiations between Disney and 21st Century Fox. If the latest reports hold true, the Mouse House may be ready to announce its acquisition of Fox’s entertainment divisions by tomorrow, December 14th, which will surely open up the possibility for an X-Men/Avengers crossover in the not-so-distant future.

But before we get swept up in hypotheticals, both Infinity War and its top-secret sequel have been scheduled to release in 2018 and 2019, respectively. And together, they’ll deliver a cinematic event like no other.
