The film is finished, of course, but with only nine days left to go, the Powers That Be are beginning to tread that fine line between promoting Infinity War and spoiling Infinity War.
So with that in mind, we’d advise you proceed with caution, as Marvel has dropped yet another promo for Avengers 3 that contains but a sliver of new footage featuring Spider-Man in the midst of battle. And just like Civil War before it, it looks certain that Tom Holland’s sprightly Web-Head is about to bring some comic relief to Infinity War once the going gets tough, at which point the tough will (hopefully) get going.
Like we alluded to before, this is by no means the only Infinity War promo that has surfaced – in fact, in the past few days alone, we’ve seen a tidal wave of clips, TV spots and blink-and-you’ll-miss-them teasers of what is undoubtedly Marvel’s biggest movie to date.
The question, really, is whether Avengers: Infinity War can possibly deliver on all those expectations. Our gut instinct says no, but Joe and Anthony Russo’s Herculean event movie will likely come mighty close, and the directing duo (not to mention screenwriters Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely) ought to be commended for pulling things together in the first place, as without their input, Avengers 3 simply would not have been possible.
So perhaps it’s best to just sit back and watch Infinity War unfold, safe in the knowledge that comic book fans are about to be treated to a Marvel vision 10 years in the making on April 27th.
