T’Challa Reigns Over Epic Avengers: Infinity War Billboard

Between the runaway success of Black Panther ($1.2 billion and counting) and Wakanda’s status as the lynchpin of Avengers: Infinity War – not to mention most, if not all of the MCU movies to follow – it’s only fitting that the sequel’s marketing blitz places a particular emphasis on T’Challa, the rightful king of Wakanda.

With little over four weeks to go until Infinity War‘s arrival, a new Marvel-themed billboard has been erected in the States, and it places Black Panther alongside the blonde Black Widow and the Incredible Hulk, played by Scarlett Johansson and Mark Ruffalo (Thor: Ragnarok), respectively. You’ll notice that Danai Gurira’s Okoye is featured here, too, who will be joined by her Wakandan allies – namely M’Baku, Shuri and Queen Ramonda – when the lights go down on April 27th.

First spotted by Twitter (h/t CBM), this billboard (seen in the gallery below, along with some recent promo art) will likely be the first of many, particularly now that Marvel’s promotional campaign is beginning to enter the final stages. Our advice? Keep your peepers peeled.

Also of note? The lime-green backdrop is strangely similar to the Time Stone (AKA Eye of Agamotto) worn by Doctor Strange, who was actually featured alongside Iron Man, Wong and Tom Holland’s Spider-Man in the most recent batch of Infinity War posters.

But don’t be fooled into thinking that T’Challa and his teammates have anything to do with the fabled Time Stone, as Marvel’s official character posters also rendered that same foursome (Black Widow, T’Challa, Hulk and Okoye) against a striking green background.

And we’ll be able to experience their dynamism and underlying chemistry once Avengers: Infinity War crashes into theaters on April 27th, bringing with it a new era of Marvel comic book movies.
