Robert Downey Jr. Names His Favorite Scene From Avengers: Infinity War

Chatting to Toronto Sun, Robert Downey Jr. has named his favorite scene from Avengers: Infinity War. And the answer may surprise you.

With no less than eight MCU appearances already under his belt, it’s fair to say that Robert Downey Jr. is a veteran – perhaps even the MVP? – of Marvel’s superhero franchise.

And in the 10 years since Jon Favreau’s original Iron Man movie, RDJ has laid eyes on alien invasions, Iron Legions, and a full-blown Civil War. Point is, when it comes to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Robert Downey Jr. knows his stuff, so it’s no wonder the folks over at Toronto Sun stopped to ask the Tony Stark actor to name his favorite scene from Avengers: Infinity War. And the answer ought to be pretty familiar to those of you who have watched the sequel’s debut teaser ten times over.

My favorite shot in the movie has already been seen, and it’s when Thor, who’s just totally gnarled up, turns and goes, ‘Who the hell are you guys?’ and you cut to the Guardians [of the Galaxy]. I’m like ‘sold’. If the whole third movie was that scene, we’re fine.

Short and sweet, then. Indeed, as a Phase One Avenger, Robert Downey Jr. was part of Joss Whedon’s original superhero team who took the fight to the Chitauri back in 2012. And an important part at that, given he steered a nuclear warhead into outer space.

Fast forward to 2018, and it would seem RDJ’s days in the can (read: the Iron Man armor) are numbered, as Marvel has been quietly assembling a brand new generation of heroes thanks to the likes of Spider-Man (Tom Holland) and Captain Marvel (Brie Larson).

The latter isn’t expected to appear in Avengers: Infinity War, despite claims to the contrary, though we fully expect Spider-Man (and Iron Man!) to be front and center when the lights go down on April 27th.
