Did Avengers: Infinity War Get A Title Change?

It's no secret that Avengers: Infinity War is now in production. From cast members Tweeting out set photos to rumors and reports flying in at an alarming rate, it seems that no matter where you turn, the massive blockbuster is eating up headlines. That isn't terribly surprising, either, given how much excitement there is surrounding Marvel's upcoming film, and tonight, we have yet another piece of news to report on - and this one's rather interesting.

Speculation is running rampant around the internet tonight that Joe and Anthony Russo’s film may have just received a title change. Last week, we saw a few members of the cast wearing hats with a new logo, which simply read “Infinity War.” Now, a low-res image has started making the rounds online that has led some to believe that the upcoming sequel has indeed dropped the prefix in its title.

Check it out below and see for yourself:

While we haven’t been able to verify the source of the image just yet, it does look identical to the logo seen on those aforementioned hats worn by the cast (if not a bit amateur). Marvel still hasn’t sent out an official press release to announce the film commencing production, so it’s impossible to know for sure whether this is the new title (or even which characters will be in Infinity War, for that matter). After all, this could very well be fan-made (as it doesn’t look too professional), but either way, we’re certainly intrigued.

As for that other issue – the characters who will be showing up – well, as of now it seems like just about everyone’s been thrown into the mix here. Seriously, every single MCU character still breathing is set to make an appearance in Infinity War from what we can tell (Spider-Man, the Guardians of the Galaxy, Doctor Strange, the Avengers, you name it). Dave Bautista confirmed as much the other week, and while the studio still hasn’t commented on it yet, we expect them to announce something soon now that the film’s officially in production.

We’ll be sure to let you know whether or not this new title turns out to be genuine, but while we wait for confirmation from Marvel, take to the comments section down below and let us know if you think Avengers: Infinity War would sound better without the prefix.
