Hawkeye Will Be Sporting A Sweet New Do In Avengers: Infinity War

Taking to Instagram, Jeremy Renner has teased Hawkeye's mohawk as it'll appear in Avengers: Infinity War. Look for it to bow in May of 2018.

If Jeremy Renner’s time in the Mission: Impossible franchise has come to an end – the one-time Bourne star appeared alongside Tom Cruise’s Ethan Hunt for both Ghost Protocol and Rogue Nation – the actor is doubling down on his commitment to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, beginning with next year’s Avengers: Infinity War.

Filming on Joe and Anthony Russo’s 2018 event movie wrapped early last month – hence the decision to roll out that show-stopping first teaser at SDCC – with the directors now focusing all of their attention on the as-yet-untitled Avengers 4. From what we understand, Renner’s Clint Barton (AKA Hawkeye) is due to appear in both crossover movies, after a leaked call sheet appeared to confirm that his character will be back, back, back in time for the fourth Avengers in 2019.

Renner seemingly fuelled those rumors during a recent interview, and now, the actor has taken to Instagram (via ComicBook.com) to tease Hawkeye’s sweet new do. It’s a mohawk, essentially, though the real question is whether this a throwback to his days spent on the set of Infinity War, or a photo taken from the in-development Avengers 4, which just started shooting late last week. We’ll leave that one for you to decide.

Per Instagram:

Staying true to those reports of a breathless back-to-back production, the Russo Brothers are now beginning to orchestrate part two of Thanos Vs. The Avengers. But long before Earth’s Mightiest Heroes begin to brace for Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Avengers: Infinity War will get the ball rolling on May 4th of 2018.

Mission: Impossible 6, meanwhile, will release without Jeremy Renner in July of 2018 – assuming that date isn’t pushed to accommodate Tom Cruise’s recent on-set injury, of course.
