Avengers: Infinity War Nominated For 7 Teen Choice Awards

Just days after hitting $2 billion at the global box office, Avengers: Infinity War has now scooped up 7 nominations at the Teen Choice Awards.

A few days ago, we were finally able to add Avengers: Infinity War to the prestigious list of movies to gross $2 billion worldwide – not that that came as much of a surprise, mind you.

In doing so, it became only the fourth feature film ever to surpass the $2 billion milestone, an honor it now shares with The Force Awakens, Titanic and the one true box office king, James Cameron’s Avatar, which is still somehow – almost inexplicably – in a league of its own at $2.78 billion. But the good news doesn’t end there.

Giving Kevin Feige and co. even more to smile about, the Teen Choice Awards released their nominations the other day and Infinity War managed to score a whopping 7, including Choice Action Movie, Choice Action Movie Actor and more. Not only that, but Marvel also saw Black Panther and Thor: Ragnarok earn a few nods, too, with the full list reading as so:

Of course, this is hardly the same as getting an Oscar, or even Golden Globe nomination, but it’s still another welcome bit of praise and acknowledgement to add to what’s been a helluva year for Marvel Studios, and we’re now just approaching the halfway point. Thus far, the motion picture company has seen a pair of films enter the all-time worldwide gross top ten in the form of Black Panther and Avengers: Infinity War.

Incredibly enough, though, despite post-Phase Three being the target of a recent flurry of activity, Marvel Studios has yet to wrap-up their highest grossing chapter yet, with Ant-Man and the Wasp still to bat for the MCU. The Peyton Reed-directed installment will get a chance at the plate next month when it hopefully opens big on July 6th.
