Another Avengers: Infinity War Fan Poster Teases A Bitter End For Earth’s Mightiest Heroes

One eagle-eyed Marvel fan has uncovered the latest fan poster for Avengers: Infinity War, and it's not looking good for Earth's Mightiest Heroes.

There’s a moment in Age of Ultron when Wanda Maximoff (AKA Scarlet Witch) casts a spell on the troubled Tony Stark, only to reveal a nightmarish dream in which all of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes lay strewn over the surface of the moon – or some other ash-grey celestial body.

It’s a grim, surprisingly bleak hallucination that preys on Stark’s post-traumatic stress – guiding a nuke through an open wormhole will do that to you – and it’s one that clearly informs the latest fan poster for Avengers: Infinity War.

First spotted by Reddit, the one-sheet in question sees Thanos, armed with a fully-equipped Infinity Gauntlet, crushing Cap’s shield as though it was nothing more than a star-spangled dinner plate. But lean a little closer and you’ll begin to uncover all of the many Easter eggs and cute references scattered around the Mad Titan’s imposing fist.

Whether it’s Black Panther’s tribal necklace or the Eye of Agamotto, below you’ll find a number of weapons/artifacts belonging to Earth’s Mightiest Heroes – hell, there’s even a nod to Hawkeye’s arrows. And at the risk of spoiling all of the surprises, see if you can spot Ant-Man…

Pretty cool, no? The onslaught of inspired, fan-made posters for Avengers: Infinity War has been nothing short of spectacular, and the fact that Marvel has only released a single teaser trailer hitherto has placed a greater emphasis on custom-made posters that rise to fame through Reddit and other social forums.

It all plays into the less-is-more approach that Marvel Studios tends to employ whilst promoting its biggest blockbusters, and one need only look at the trailer unveiling of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, which pumped out three teaser trailers and a featurette, for a little perspective.

Meanwhile, Joe and Anthony Russo will officially wage an Infinity War on May 4th, 2018.
